Find The Hidden Gem - User Guide
Welcome. Thank you for using the app.
This app was designed to help train your focus and observation skills. In today's digital age, we are constantly bombarded with short-form videos—and studies show they can significantly impair our attention spans, especially in young children.
Beyond training your mind, you can simply enjoy it as a lighthearted, non-addictive, and calm diversion—perfect for quick entertainment breaks without overstimulation. Best of all, if you want to protect your progress, closing the app midway will never cost you your hard-earned score.
How to Play
Tap the Start button to begin a round. Watch carefully to see which bowl covers the hidden gem. The bowls will then shuffle several times. When the shuffling stops, tap the bowl that you believe contains the gem.
You can use the Show Gem button before starting a round to preview the gem's location. The Guide button opens the game instructions, and Reset Game starts a new game from Level 1.
Levels and Score
The game does not use a separate numerical score. Your progress is measured by your current Level and Winning Streak. Best Level records the highest level you have reached, while Best Streak records your longest sequence of correct guesses.
At Level 1, you must win four consecutive rounds to advance to Level 2. At Level 2, you must win three consecutive rounds. At Level 3, you must win two consecutive rounds. From Level 4 onward, one correct guess advances you to the next level.
Each correct guess increases your winning streak by one. An incorrect guess resets both your winning streak and your progress within the current level. If you are above Level 1, an incorrect guess also lowers your level by one. Your level can never fall below Level 1.
Number of Bowls
Levels 1 through 4 use three bowls. Levels 5 through 8 use four bowls. Levels 9 through 13 use five bowls. Level 14 and above use six bowls.
Number of Shuffles
For Levels 1 through 17, the number of shuffles is calculated with the following formula: 10 + current level + number of active bowls.
The resulting shuffle counts are: Levels 1–4 use 14, 15, 16, and 17 shuffles. Levels 5–8 use 19, 20, 21, and 22 shuffles. Levels 9–13 use 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28 shuffles. Levels 14–17 use 30, 31, 32, and 33 shuffles.
Levels 18 through 21 use 40 shuffles. Levels 22 through 24 use 50 shuffles.
From Level 25 through Level 36, the number of shuffles is calculated with the formula: 50 + (current level − 24) × 3. This produces 53 shuffles at Level 25, then 56, 59, 62, 65, 68, 71, 74, 77, 80, 83, and finally 86 shuffles at Level 36.
From Level 37 onward, the number of shuffles remains fixed at 86.
Time per Shuffle
The shuffle duration is the time required for one pair of bowls to exchange positions. A smaller duration means faster movement.
At Level 1, the duration starts at 0.416 seconds. After each consecutive win within the level, it is reduced by 0.01 seconds. The four rounds therefore use 0.416, 0.406, 0.396, and 0.386 seconds per shuffle.
At Level 2, the three rounds use 0.400, 0.390, and 0.380 seconds per shuffle.
At Level 3, the two rounds use 0.390 and 0.380 seconds per shuffle. Level 4 uses 0.380 seconds per shuffle.
Levels 5 through 8 use 0.340, 0.330, 0.320, and 0.310 seconds per shuffle.
Levels 9 through 13 use 0.282, 0.270, 0.258, 0.246, and 0.234 seconds per shuffle.
Levels 14 through 40 use 0.220 seconds per shuffle. From Level 41 onward, each shuffle takes 0.210 seconds.
From practical testing, tracking becomes quite challenging at a shuffle speed of 0.220s; yet, with sharp eyes and keen attention, it is entirely possible to keep up. Because of this, beyond Level 14, the difficulty primarily scales through an increased number of shuffles. The further 0.01-second speed reduction from Level 41 onward is specifically tailored for those who make it that far and truly crave an ultimate challenge.
Total Shuffle Time
The approximate duration of a complete shuffle sequence is calculated by multiplying the number of shuffles by the duration of each shuffle. For example, 50 shuffles at 0.220 seconds each take approximately 11 seconds.
From Level 6 onward, the game occasionally performs an additional fake bowl lift. Each fake lift adds approximately 0.19 seconds, so the actual total duration can be slightly longer than the basic calculation.
